Personal Projects
This a some of my work that I felt needed to be together in their own catagories. These are slowly being worked on and added to in my free time.
CrossRose
This is the story of a Postal Worker, who works for a place that uses magic and advanced technology to make deliveries from an island at the middle of the sea. This character is my current online persona/mascot and what I’ve built my branding on.
What started out as a concept for a Vtuber model (a 2d or 3d model that uses movement tracking-like from a motion tracking suit or a web camera-to move around), ended up growing into its own sort of story with its own world-building. The design was inspired by star navigation devices/maps, as well as my love for nautical towns and uniforms. An angel motif was also used. The idea was that this company operated like carrier pigeons or angels giving messages. While the Vtuber idea never came to fruition, I currently use the design as a representation of myself both online and as a creator. In the future, I'd like to create a separate project with a story that takes place in this world.
CrossRose is the name of a company dedicated to connecting the worlds via a complex postal delivery service, involving the stars. Postal workers arrive at their destinations by either boat or flying with company-made, artificial wings. Portals to any location can be created with a device that calculates where the stars are located at any given time on any given world. CrossRose's workers are a team that has pride in their work, technology and each other. They will always get your letters and packages to you on time, no matter what.
The name CrossRose is a play on words of 'crossroads' combined with 'compass rose'.
Untitled Project
An unorthadox story involving science, fantasy, nightmares and immortality. It's a world I've been creating since I was very young that has spiraled into its very own beast. It’s a horror story about a young woman who gets trapped in a world of dreams and nightmares and discovers that she can no longer die. I'm finally putting daydreams to paper, starting with charaterizations for the main charaters.
An accident with her partner's final university project leads Chris to being stranded in a place where dreams and nightmares can manifest into reality. Strange things happen to her as a result. As she can no longer die, her body instead shatters and recreates itself upon getting too injured, and she can now manipulate energy and change the shape of metal like a magnet. Chris will be here for a very long time. Determined to not let anyone else succumb to her fate, she goes around each dream world to fight off the creatures that caused her to become like this, using her new abilities to save others from becoming like her. It seems as though it’s too late as along the way she meets a group of people that have already become like her and have the same goals. It becomes a story about the meaning of life, death, family and overcoming fear. Everything grows stranger from here.
This project is a mixture of Gothic and Sci-Fi. The outfits main character Chris often wears being inspired by Victorian or Gothic Lolita style clothing, but the technology used is often fantasy-futuristic. As the story is heavily focused on horror and nightmares as a theme, a lot of the color pallets are white on black with only 1-2 accent colors, with exceptions for certain important characters or scenes. I feel this allows art of these characters and environments to pop and can easily give a major sense of unease.
